Lutz wildlife control tip of the month:
Addendum about raccoon presence (Brief version)- Last summer Lutz animal control a young raccoon fell into a third floor closet
through an access panel to the attic. This was confirmed when city/county animal control came to see what
the animal was making noise in the closet. In addition to capturing the young raccoon, an adult, presumably
the mother, raccoon was seen observing from the attic Lutz animal control through the open access panel. For whatever benefit, I
threw numerous mothballs into the attic area, used several cans of insect fogger directed through the open
access, and placed ammonia-soaked rags on the shelf of the closet as well. Within a day or two I no longer
heard evidence of creatures in the attic. Whether they Lutz pest control left because of my activities or the mother decided
it was a dangerous place to raise a family, as one had already been haulled away, I do not know. A hole under
a soffet was found and assumed to be the entry way. This was closed a few weeks after the last of animal activity
was heard. We do have rabid raccoons Lutz pest control here in Florida, but there was nothing observed to suggest this particular
adult and family were infected.
My response: I myself have done wildlife control in Orlando, Seattle, and southeast PA (including Philly) and have
handled raccoon feces in hundreds of cases. I've never had any Lutz wildlife removal problems. Roundworm seems really rare and not so
easy to catch. Other than that, I'm not a doctor, so I can't offer any specific medical advice. But if it was me,
I wouldn't care.Thank you David for your reply. So, the bottom Lutz wildlife removal line is one should be thoughtful and take appropriate
precautions in dealing with raccoons, and it may be a bigger job than the average person may realize. But in practice,
catching raccoon roundworm is not like chicken pox, where if you're in the same room with somebody unknowingly you'll
likely catch it (at least it was that way before the days of vaccine). But Lutz animal trapping if I start to stay up late at night and
develop increasingly dark circles around my eyes.... Thanks again for taking the time to respond to my questions.
Of general interest, years ago I had a friend who was at vet school Lutz animal trapping at Penn. He lived north of Temple Univ. in the
"Logan" section of town. One night his neighbor's dog had an encounter with a raccoon, with the raccoon being killed.
My friend took the dead raccoon in for study and it Lutz exterminator was found to be infected with rabies. They may be cute and enjoy
a reputation for comic mischief in some quarters, but they can also be nasty wild animals. The young one in the closet
looked very cute, but it sounded quite vicious Lutz exterminator once they snared it.
